Levi Hall First Floor Lab Renovations
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Client: Johns Hopkins University
Area: 8,000 SF
Completion: 2017
Colimore Architects worked with Johns Hopkins University, Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and a prominent researcher in the field of genetics to transform outdated laboratory space into a state-of the-art research, teaching and office suite. The project provided an 8,000 SF floor-wide schematic level plan for construction in two phases. Program spaces included open area graduate research labs, microscopy lab, tissue culture lab, molecular biology lab, cold room and spaces for specialized equipment. A large centralized conference room receives natural light on two sides through all-glass walls with butt glazed panels. The offices take advantage of perimeter windows and are in close proximity to the conference room.
