Colimore understands that great designs need great people – talented, creative and passionate. Our architecture team encompasses some of the best and brightest and are dedicated to producing innovative and environmentally sound designs.

Amal Wickramaratne

HR Manager

Amal is an accomplished and dedicated professional, with broad-based experience in accounting, finance, and employee relations within diverse environments, including public accounting and banking. At ATI, Amal is responsible for all the employees Human Resource needs. Amal holds Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Rutgers State University in New Jersey.


Fun Fact: When he is not playing pool in the office, Amal likes to go camping, hiking, biking and enjoys the wildlife.

Ashutosh Belgi, AIA LEED AP BD+C

Principal

Ash joined ATI in 2013 to manage the architectural studio. He holds an MA in Architecture and is a Licensed Architect. Ash has over 20 years of experience on large to small scale master planning and architectural design projects, including new construction and renovations. He is committed to practical sustainable design solutions and remains informed through his U.S. Green Building Council membership. Ash also serves as a board member for AIA’s Maryland Chapter and is an active member of USGBC.


Fun Fact: He enjoys playing with his son and watching him grow into a awesome little dude, hanging out with his daughter who does everything better than he could ever do and traveling with his wife to enjoy different cultures and food. Last but not least “GO RAVENS”!

Beena Patel

Intern Architect

Beena has been with ATI for 5 years. She is experienced in planning & design of commercial & multi-family residential facilities. She has provided assistance on government projects for data collection, database entry, filing – hard copy & electronic and editing.


Fun Fact: Beena loves to read, cook and play board games with her family.

Brandon Casey, RA, LEED AP

Architect

Brandon joined Colimore Architects in 2020 and is a registered architect with a Master of Architecture from Catholic University of America.  He has significant experience in the building envelope and roof replacements.  Throughout the past 10 years, Brandon has worked on a variety of projects including a memorial, museum, interior build outs, a gymnasium and mixed-use development.


Fun Fact: Brandon enjoys hiking, ice hockey and watching his two boys play sports.

Brian Oswinkle

Intern Architect

Brain has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Environmental Design as well as a Masters of Architecture from Morgan State University. Throughout his education, he became interested in community design and social architecture. Since joining the Colimore team in 2019, Brian has been involved in project design for several commercial and higher education projects. He strives to incorporate his love for art and architecture into every design.


Fun Fact: Brian likes to take long drives & explore new breweries with his wife.

Cassandra Caleo

Marketing Coordinator

Cassie joined Colimore in 2017 and helps lead the marketing efforts for the company’s architectural division in the Baltimore office. She has a diverse professional background and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture. Her professional experiences encompass a wide range of disciplines including business development, marketing, landscape design and graphic design. Cassie is currently a member of SMPS and serves as a member for the Maryland Chapter’s Communications Committee.


Fun Fact: Cassie loves HEIGHTS! — The higher the better. She also enjoys traveling to new countries, spending time with her family and always having her dog by her side.

Chinmoy Mitra

Principal

Mr. Mitra has over 32 years of experience in planning, design, and construction of correctional/institutional, industrial, commercial and residential facilities. He specializes in managing the A/E design of correctional and institutional facilities. He has more than 25 years of experience managing government facility design projects. Coordinated work of team consultants to successfully deliver A/E design projects as well as manage the A/E team on numerous design-build projects, liaising with contractors and the owners.


Fun Fact:  Chinmoy enjoys volunteering for various organizations, practicing yoga and meditation and playing games.

David Dowell

Associate

David Dowell has significant experience in technical building envelope systems assembly. In 20 years, David became the firm’s expert in building envelope and roof replacements. David is experienced with unique and historic renovation projects. He has lead and collaborated on multiple K-12, higher education and government projects. He also has significant experience working with new construction of government, commercial, higher education, healthcare, office building as well as roof replacements.


Fun Fact: David loves traveling and spending time with his dog Blu.

David Justice, NCARB

Project Manager

David received two Bachelors degrees in both Architecture and Art from the University of Kentucky. He has over 20 years of experience in residential, hospitality, commercial, healthcare and mixed-use design.


Fun Fact: David enjoys going on hikes with his two sons and his dog Nelly. He also enjoys painting, photography and traveling.

David Villarreal

Intern Architect

David has a Bachelors in Architecture from the Pilot University of Colombia, where he also holds a professional license. He is in the process of receiving an NCARB certification. Since joining Colimore in 2019, David has assisted in multiple projects including healthcare, K-12 and community design projects.


Fun Fact: David speaks three languages and enjoys traveling. He previously worked in the southern Spain.

Devon Vallely

Intern Architect

In spring 2016, Devon received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland, College Park and is currently working towards becoming NCARB certified. His professional experiences include commercial design, tenant fit-outs and he has been focusing on healthcare related projects since joining Colimore in early 2020.


Fun Fact: Devon loves traveling, sports and combining them by going to stadiums/ballparks in new cities.

Emily Shen

Staff Accountant

Emily graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Masters in Accounting. Her professional experiences encompass diverse fields including audit, tax and corporate accounting.


Fun Fact: Emily likes watching soccer games, reading and cooking.

Gary Mayer

Vice President, Business Development

Gary joined ATI, Inc. in 2019. He holds degrees in Business Management, Industrial Technology and a Masters in System Safety Engineering. After a 20-year career as a professional firefighter and serving in the Bureaus of Fire Suppression, Training of Fire Prevention, Code Enforcement and Arson Investigation, Gary found his way into the environmental field where he managed remediation cleanup in both the commercial and federal sectors before he moved into business development. His currently supports several business lines at ATI.


Fun Fact: Gary enjoys fly fishing for steelhead, salmon and trout and deep sea fishing with his granddaughters of the Delaware Coast.

Guru Patel

Senior Associate

Guru has over 25 years experience in construction phase inspection and management of new building and building renovation projects. He is particularly experienced in coordinating and reviewing the plans for code compliance and consistency. Guru has also completed numerous feasibility studies and building inspections for code compliance and determination of rehabilitation requirements. He has provided quality control of A/E design projects and provided coordination of drawings and specs between various disciplines.

Heather Hylinski-Bakhsh

Associate

Heather has over 13 years of experience in architectural design, and holds a masters degree in Architecture. Her experience includes successfully planning, designing and executing dozens of complex projects throughout Maryland. For the past nine years in working for the company, she’s had a critical role in implementing REVIT for all the architectural projects.


Fun Fact: Heather enjoys spending time with her family and going to the beach.

Indralal Jayalathara-chchi, LEED AP BD+C

Architect

Indra has over 15 years of experience in architectural design, drafting and facility inspection. He is familiar with various building design and construction codes.  In addition to architectural design and drafting, he has provided facility audits, leads assessments and field inspection during construction of a wide variety of projects. He is also experienced in inspecting & evaluating existing buildings and building systems for performance, integrity and lifespan.

 

James A. Colimore, Jr., AIA

Principal

James A. Colimore, Jr. founded Colimore Architects in 1973 and has been a pivotal architect in the k-12, healthcare, and higher education sectors in Baltimore and throughout Maryland.


Fun Fact: Enjoys spending time with his 6 grandchildren!

Jan Walecka, LEED AP BD+C

Project Manager

Jan has over 17 years of comprehensive master planning and architectural design experience. Her diverse architectural, planning and development experience includes Municipal, Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs), Academic, Medical, Research Laboratories, Commercial, and Residential projects. An education in Architecture and Fine Arts, and having had the opportunity to study and work abroad, provides me with a unique perspective and prepares me for the multi-faceted challenges of the design profession.

Jenn Grecco

Office Administrator

Jenn joined Colimore in 2018 and predominantly manages the overall functions of the Baltimore office. She graduated from MICA where she received her Associates in Photography. Along with being a local photographer for nearly two decades, Jenn has worked in the Baltimore A/E industry for over 15 years as an Office Administrator. She has extensive experience working with all departments within the company and acts as the liaison between the design and marketing staff. Her exceptional organizational skills are vital to the overall functions of our office.


Fun Fact: Jenn enjoys photographing abandoned buildings, she loves to travel, and is a collector of albums, art books and fashion magazines!

Jonathan Harris

Senior Contract Manager

Jonathan attended Bowie State University, graduating with a Bachelor in Accounting and a MA in Administrative Management & Finance.  He is an accounting professional equipped with 17+ years of experience in a variety of corporate environments.  Jonathan has an astute understanding of both federal and state regulations and also proven track record of minimizing corporate risks and streamlining internal processes.


Fun Fact: Jonathan is originally from Mt. Vernon, NY, is a proud husband and father of four.

Kishan Amarasekera, PE

President

Kishan joined ATI in 2004 with the goal of growing the architectural design firm into a full-service consulting firm. In addition to guiding the vision and direction for ATI, he still does engineering design as well as client relations and program management. Kishan holds a Bachelors and a Masters from MIT and is a licensed civil/environmental engineer.


Fun Fact: Kishan enjoys traveling, watching football, trying to play golf, and spending time with his wife, son and dog (not necessarily in that order).

Leon Powell, AIA LEED BD+C

Architect

Leon joined Colimore in 2020. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1995 and has over 20 years of experience working on every phase of a variety of project types from single family homes to the re-purposing/renovation of a retired steam generation facility, originally designed, in 1900 to provide power for Baltimore’s consolidated streetcar system. He has managed and coordinated design teams on several large projects for the University System of Maryland, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the US Postal Service, to name a few.


Fun Fact: Leon had the opportunity to work and travel around Japan’s main island, Honshu for 6 months interrupting his undergraduate studies while attending Georgia Tech. While there he spent his time living and working in Tokyo and visiting the cities of Kyoto, Osaka and Nara where he got to feed a herd of sacred/tame deer that roam through the temple grounds in Nara Park.

Mary Stevenson, AIA, NCARB

Project Manager

A licensed Architect with more than 20 years of experience in the A/E industry. She is adept in the development, coordination, design and implementation of a wide range of construction projects. These projects include site and facilities programming, planning, interiors and architectural design for institutional, commercial, governmental, hospitality, educational, residential, and mixed-use facilities.

 

Michael Martone

BIM Coordinator

Michael has been working in the architectural field since 2007.  He has been involved with a wide range of project types and has a keen interest in producing high quality drawing sets.  Michael is experienced in creating concept renderings for clients and fully utilizes the latest technology available to help clients visualize the project.


Fun Fact: He enjoys traveling to new places and looking for birds while hiking.

Mostaf Wahab

Intern Architect

Mostaf joined Colimore in 2019 and holds a Bachelors of Architecture and a Computer-Aided Design Certificate. He is currently working towards a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program through the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Since joining the Colimore team, Mostaf has predominantly been involved with community building design.


Fun Fact: Mostaf enjoys spending time outdoors, drawing, photography and listening to/playing music.

Priya Iyer, AIA LEED AP BD+C

Principal

Priya joined Colimore Architects in 2018 as the Principal and Design Lead. Prior to Colimore, Priya worked with ATI as Project Manager and Senior Architect from 2010 to 2016. During this time Priya provided consultant design and management services to MDOT MTA’s Facilities Engineering, ADA and Sustainability Division. In 2016, Priya was appointed as the Manager of the Division and she served the State of Maryland from 2016 to 2018. Priya holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture, is a Licensed Architect with LEED AP BD+C certification and has over 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors. Priya also serves as a committee member for ULI’s WaveMaker Awards and is an active member of USGBC.


Fun Fact: I enjoy most the time I spend with my kids and my husband. I also like to travel and explore new places, play tennis, entertain friends and family and take on small DIY projects.

Rosalie Rineheart

Project Manager

Rosalie has been part of the Colimore team for over 6 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland, College Park. She specializes in architectural and interior design for multiple sectors including healthcare, commercial and K-12.


Fun Fact: Rosalie enjoys working on cars, designing & building furniture and getting her hands dirty.

 

Thomas Terranova, AIA

Associate

Associate Architect, Thomas Terranova, joined Colimore over 10 years ago and brings more than 20 years of experience to the team. He holds multiple degrees including a Masters in Architecture from the University of Maryland, College Park, a Masters in Geology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a Bachelors in Geology from University of Louisville. He specializes in a broad range of sectors including healthcare, K-12, commercial, community buildings, higher education, government, higher education, multi-family residential, transitional housing and historic, religious.

Awards: NorthBay Environmental Education Camp AIA National Education Excellence Award-2006, AIA Maryland Design Award-2006, AIA Baltimore Design Award-2006.


Fun Fact: Tom’s first job was a cook at a chinese restaurant
